As a guide my '81 standard rig and interior, was listed at $8500 in 2007.
It had much of your equipment (9.9 Honda ob, and no Auto pilot) Sails were
in very good condition and the bottom had been recently refinished. It had
just 3 winches (2 main original and one for halyard on cabin top). I paid
just $6000 for the boat after negotiations.

I would add that boat prices is really a regional thing, the same boat will
sell for very different prices in different parts of the country. The same
goes for time of year. Selling the boat early in the season will get a
higher price rather than late in the season. Lastly, spend some time a
clean the boat and make it sparkle. I looked at maybe 30 Catalina 27s for
sale and when I saw the boat I purchased it was clean as a whistle. I first
saw my boat in the winter and the PO had the smart idea to heat the cabin.
It is the little things that matter. Take loads of GOOD photos of the boat
both at dock and under sail. Show off the boat in any listings you post.
Be flexible.

I am trying to figure out what is a good starting price for my boat. Due to
some major unforseen circumstances I am stongly considering having to let
the boat go. I hate to but I may need the money for bills and need to get
rid of the $200 a month slip bill. I'll hit the high points.

1978 C27 standard rig standard interior, Outboard.
Roller furling with 150 genoa. 3 years old, new sun cover, new sheets
Good Main with new sail cover plus brand new main never flown
Just rebuilt 1995 Honda 7.5 outboard with sail prop and charging system
Bottom job last year
All new running rigging/ good standing
Tiller autopilot with remote
Depth, speed, compass, and GPS
JVC CD player with 4 speakers
Every light, switch, ect work.
Have all original manuals and a service records since new
4 winches with covers, tiller cover
2 flat screen TV's and DVD player
Just detailed and cleaned top to bottom
Cushions 4 years old.
Just set up for spinnaker: installed new uphaul and downhaul, pole,
spinnaker, and sheets.....big money!!

I would call it above average for a 78, but not perfect. She is in perfect
sailing order. All lines ran to the cockpit. Self reefing..set up to single
hand. Everything works so I would say she is turnkey. Some work that could
be done if you want her pristeen.

Like I said I am curious where to start and about what she should be worth.
This site is such a good sorce of info thought you guys would know. I see
them from 4500-10000 for this year online. Quite a range.

Also would I be better off to take all the new stuff off(motor, sail,
spinnakker set up, electronics, tv's ect) and sell for cheaper. The old main
is serviceable and I have a old motor it came with that runs.
