Definition: Summer SOLSTICE, n. The Sun's apparent position in the sky
has reached its northernmost extreme.
The name is derived from the Latin sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still),

SONG OF THE SOLSTICE

Here I sit quite broken hearted,
The Sun's slide South has now been started,
Soon each day will be a lil bit shorter,
And Fall will fall, and the weather reporter,
Will tell us folks about the chill and damp,
'N our bones will creak and hands will cramp,
We'll wish the days of warmth and light,
Would extend a bit and make things right,
More of the Star that tans our back,
Shining hot enough to make skin crack.
Old SOL chasing damp away each day,
Giving gentle winds so we can sail away,
Oh Solstice Hold the Sun yet longer still,
I've not yet had enough warmth to fill,
My needs of Sun and ............................
Huh ...?
... What the hell ?.... Sun ? ..... there AIN'T been NO STINKIN' Sun here
in the Pacific Northwest!
Warm ? .. I ain't been warm since the house burned down !!
Soltice ? that means the SUN is moving back South? I think the Stupid Sun
was NEVER Here in the first place.
Frigin' .. COLD and WET every day..
I am so P***** off ...I ain't even gonna finish This STUPID poem..
Poem? I hate Poems,
 I hate the neighbor's Cat, I hate the Mailman, . ... I don't much like my 100
year old Aunt either.
I'm going to punch a hole in my Dock mate's brand new boat !
And YOU all you crazy sailors !! Go JUMP OFF the end of your Dock !
It's been raining so long.... My Boat has green mold all over it....
The green mold has GREEN MOLD on it.
Attitude ? You think I've got an ATTITUDE ?
I'll show you Attitude ................

Happy Summer Solstice Everyone !
May Each day be Warm and Bright.. Even without sunshine here in the Pacific
NW..
The Best of the Best to you all,
