The simple answer is does it have a bow sprit or standard no sprit bow. The Tall Rig has a small (wooden) bow sprit. Also the boom is different in the tall rig. The boom on the Standard Rig is 10’ 6” and Tall Rig the boom is 9’ 8” (yes shorter boom on the tall rig). Obviously the mast is taller, but just 1’ taller.
