The simple answer is does it have a bow sprit or standard no sprit bow.  The 
Tall Rig has a small (wooden) bow sprit.  Also the boom is different in the 
tall rig. The boom on the Standard Rig is 10’ 6” and Tall Rig the boom is 9’ 8” 
(yes shorter boom on the tall rig).  Obviously the mast is taller, but just 1’ 
taller.

If it has a teak bow sprit, it's most likely a tall rig.

Here is a random question that I think is rather important for me to know... 
the PO of my boat did not know whether my boat is a tall or standard rig C27.  
Is there an easy way to find out other than trying to get a tape measure to the 
top of the mast?
