Joe, I believe the boom is the same length on the tall and standard rigs, or at least it is on my boat. (tall rig)
However, the length of the foot of the sail is definitely shorter on the tall rig. Also the boom is different in the tall rig. The boom on the Standard Rig is 10’ 6” and Tall Rig the boom is 9’ 8” (yes shorter boom on the tall rig). Obviously the mast is taller, but just 1’ taller.
