If you are no longer in need of the tank, I would take tin snips and cut the tank itself to remove it from the boat. Probably;y don't want to go at it with a saw as its going to create sparks. Given creative use of snips, hammers and hand saws - I think you could make quick work of it and not hurt the boat.
