Rob,

Hopefully you can get to the back of the instrument. Someone has extended
the 2 wire & shield (bare wire) that come out the back of the instrument
with a piece of 4 wire and shield cable. The transducer is like a speaker,
it's not polarity sensitive, but you might phase it backwards.

If you're in the water try black to black, shield to shield, and try the
remain three options one at a time.

Subject: [IC27A] i'm crazy, but are my wires crossed too?

hi all,

depth sounder woes. i'm in the process of reinvigorating my DS45 and need to
bypass a splice that runs behind the bulkhead and is therefore out of sight.
i'm splicing the transducer cable (four colors plus a bare wire) to a 2
color cable (black and white with a bare wire) that connects to the head
unit. does anyone know which color goes where? i would use the previous
splice as reference but like i said i no can see it. thanks in advance. -rob
