Lee: We are located at Shores. They have added dock and more sailboats. We recently hosted the 39th Annual Leech Lake Regatta. About 55 boats participated. Winds were brutal 20-30mph with higher gusts for all three days. Lots of broken stuff (rudders, masts, sails). But, mostly people said they really liked it and will be back. Its a good social event with some challenging distance races.
The weather has been nice. This year the lake (and most of them in Minnesota) was ice free the earliest on record. I had my cover off and the bottom painted by mid-April, about 3 week before crane-in. We had a few days in the 90s, but mid-80s with low humidity is the norm. The big sporting goods store is call REEDS. Used to stay at Shores of Leech lake campground, which has a nice small marina. Really loved the break from the hot, humid Alabama summers! I'm hoping to talk new wife into going back, but we don't have the motorhome anymore.
