Thew wife is away visiting family so what better time to take a few days and go sailing. My brother and I have been planning these 4 days for about a month. After a HOT August, September turned out to be very refreshing. That is until yesterday, today the temps rose again to 90 degrees. The wind had been forcast for 5-10 knots, but we hade planned to sail from West River to thre Magothy for the first leg of our Baltimore and back 4 day cruise. We got a late start, stocking the boat after a grocery run. And then we had to bend on the sails (I rempved them with the hint of a hurricane last week). So, we pulled out on our first 20 nmile leg at 2:45. BUT the wind gods were smiling on us today, we had 15-20 knot southerly winds and we had a sleigh ride up The Bay, under The Bay bridge and on to the Magothy. The GPS read 8.3 knots as top speed, we did some surfing down the 3’ waves. The link to today’s run with SPOT is:
