Dick, I have not changed a temp sending unit.  They rarely go bad, but is 
possible.  If it has a part number on it, I would try a Kubota dealer for a 
replacement.  When the temp goes up, is it instantly or take about 15-20 
seconds?  Have you opened up the coolant side?  It sounds like you might have 
an air lock.
