>>>> Is trotting on a lunge good for what you want to see? Slower trot or faster trot or both? I have to wait unitl we are out of the deep freeze - maybe next weekend.
That's where I THINK we may hit a problem for horses like Andi who tend towards trot - I think it's often harder for a horse to do his "secondary" (for lack of a better word) gait on a turn or circle, especially when young. For example, Eitill has no problem holding tolt/rack on the turns on the ring, but he does have trouble holding trot on the turns. Falki has no trouble trotting anywhere in the ring, straight or on the turns, but he can only EASILY foxtrot through the turns... I'd still like to see some videos though, to see if this is just something I THINK is right, or an actual fact. So, if you're game, send 'em in! I'll see if I can get some video of Falki this weekend. Karen Thomas, NC -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
