I've only had horses travel great distances to get here, but if he were my horse. I would not have put him in with his new herd immediately upon his arrival. Travel is stressful to horses, and they can often lose weight 'after' they've arrived. It takes them some time to adjust to new food, new water....new everything. I think the quickest I introduced anyone to one of their herdmates was three days after their arrival and then it was to only one. And then the rest of the herd was gradually introduced. Wanda
