I'll try just about anything, and if it doesn't work I put it aside and try something else--go back to it later, or not....depends on the circumstances. But since I've got the Level 1 I will go through the steps and see what happens. What I like about the Parelli program is that it is step by step, has troubleshooting, has contacts to ask questions--everything I feel a newbie like me needs. And, if something doesn't work, fine--what I'm getting from this program is a method to play with my horses and develop relationships. So far I'm having fun. I've sat in the pasture for 30 minutes of quiet time--of course Orri came directly to me and started nuzzling for treats--and Gat came over, didn't touch me (she's the hesitant one) but looked at me with this 'where's the treats?' look--and another horse, Evie, not mine--came over to check me out too. When they all saw I had no treats and I was only sitting there Gat and Evie left but Orri stayed with me for 20 minutes--surprised me cuz I figured when there were no treats he'd be gone. Next step is to introduce the carrot stick and savvy string which I'm hoping to do today--we had a snow storm during the night so we'll see if the roads get better first. :D V
