My old stallion GB is hardly a stallion at all anymore. All he has
down there are prunes. and he does not need gelding for behavioral
reasons. he does not act like a stud in any way. What I need to
know... does anyone know if gelding a horse late in life will help
them as far as keeping/gaining weight... I know testosterone keeps
stallions svelte but I dont know if its the virile running around that
keeps the weight off or hormone production per se. my husband is
afraid GB is too decrepit to take the strain of major sedation but he
did ok with his teeth except it took him a week to get over and the
next day he was pretty bad off... and gelding would be even more
sedation than that... should I just get used to the idea that his
ribs are always gonna show??
