>>> What's up with disliking someone because they use American / English
names on their bought-and-paid-for horses?

What I really don't like about the Icelandic names is the fact that, not
only do we have to pick an approved name, but the farm name has to be in it.
Therefore we don't have a lot of creativity. Seems like all Icelandic
horses end up basically named Spot, Star, Blackie, Blaze, Brownie, Red or
Saga. <Yawn> A friend of mine bought a mare she didn't know was bred years
ago - a QH - so she named the baby Sir Prize and called him Prize. Another
person I know of has two horses, one named Cash Depleter, called Cash, and
Willow Forever, called Willow. (As in "We'll owe forever.") Gracie is
Grace Under Fire, and Cruise is Cruise Control.

>>>> Does every Arabian horse in the world have an Arabian name?

Our one Arabian is registered as Blunder Bay. Somewhere along the way
before we bought him, someone started calling him Thunder, so Emily showed
him as Thunder Bay, a compromise. Best I can tell, none of the above are
Arabic words. :)
