I don't know why...people can call their horses what they want. I don't really have a problem with giving them an Icelandic name for the registry and I do call them by their names, except Dari is not really his full name. I felt like I had a wider choice in giving my other horses names, Celie is named after the character in 'The Color Purple', Rose is really Van Lear Rose, after Loretta Lynn's song. I did think of starting to call Snorri "Cartman" after the mean little kid on South Park after he chased my filly and scared her to death, he can be a bit of a brat:) > > Does every Arabian horse in the world have an Arabian name? > > Does every Warmblood have a Swedish, Dutch, or Hungarian name? > I don't think so. I wonder if their registries are set up like ours, with a central body who controls the rules for all countries? Kim
