I don't know why...people can call their horses what they want. I 
don't really have a problem with giving them an Icelandic name for 
the registry and I do call them by their names, except Dari is not 
really his full name. I felt like I had a wider choice in giving my 
other horses names, Celie is named after the character in 'The Color 
Purple', Rose is really Van Lear Rose, after Loretta Lynn's song. I 
did think of starting to call Snorri "Cartman" after the mean little 
kid on South Park after he chased my filly and scared her to death, 
he can be a bit of a brat:)

I don't think so. I wonder if their registries are set up like ours, 
with a central body who controls the rules for all countries?
