Do you have to have an icelandic name? In the US does it have to be "from" not "fra" and if so, why in europe is it fra, or is it fra? If I named my horse could I just make up a farm name or do you have to be registered with USIHC as a farm?? Like, if I had a new baby and the breeder I got it from hadnt registered it yet, could I name it "Doofus from Janice's farm", or if I bought a horse named "Sleipner fra KIYHLKHLKHj;lij" could I change its name to "Doofus Fra Janice's Farm" ?? i honestly thought when I bought Nasi i would name him "Mouse" which I thought was cool but a. he does not look like a "Mouse" at all and b. he already had his icelandic name, Monasi FROM Permanent Vacation which is where I wish I lived but oh well, now he is Nasi from work at the salt mines til you die apparently but anyway...
I am just curious. I guess I could go look it all up but maybe someone already knows. I have seen horses on websites that are registered icelandics that have seemingly american names and not icelandic names. Is that just their barn names? Like could you name your horse Mouse From blah blah farm? As for nasi, when i got his first coggins the assistant was filling out the paperwork and asked what was his name and I told her nasi and when it came back from the GOVERNMENT all official and all it said his name was "Nazi" like I would name a horse Nazi !! Until that coggins expired I lived in fear I would get pulled over and the coggins would be checked and it would be a holocaust survivor patrolman i swear... Janice -- yipie tie yie yo
