Oh that will come Susan.  He's just a baby and he's learning.  Dagur
was like that too...then all of a sudden he realized that the fat
older human was a klutz...so he just forgave me and started getting
used to me making mistakes.

Some horses need a bit of maturity before they are truly started.  We
gave Dagur an extra year due to some circumstances around here that
didn't allow us the time to train him, and it worked out perfectly.
During that time he matured mentally and really filled out physically.
 So starting at four years is something that doesn't have to be
written in stone.  Starting Dagur at 5 worked out just fine.

Take him on lots of walks and enjoy his company for a while.  The
jumpiness is an indicator that he's not quite ready.
