That's so important, Trish - people often don't see the harm in what they
are accustomed to seeing.  The first time I heard about Ice Tolts, I about
choked - that went against everything I'd ever learned about good footing,
riding in ways appropriate to the terrain, etc.  When I first saw that
Icelandics on Ice website, I just stared...and then I noticed there was a
link to something to the effect of taking the ice into consideration.  I
went looking to see how they'd justify the hard riding on the hard surface.
I was further horrified to find that the link was all about protecting the
ICE RINK!  Not about protecting the horses from the concussion.  I knew then
that I lived in a different world than those people.
