-Well, here is a perpective from the Parelli student in Iceland.
Unfortunately, she doesn't see anything wrong with it. But this is one
of her first posts from a few years ago and maybe her perspective has
 changed.)

Trish ?! What is wrong with not riding fast on pavements and hard road?
And what make´s me Malin a Parelli student???or did I miss something??

To answer this,to ride on Ice on a Lake is something diffirent than in a
stadium as the lake ice is on a water pillow and is therefore a softer ice than
a stadium ice . Also the man made ice is harder then the one by nature
so that have a one day competion (3 min) on a lake is nota big deal for horse
as it happens maybe two time´s in a lifetime and no training is dun several
weeks before as this competions is held when we have Ice that happens to be a
few day´s each winter. the last winter we had 1 competion in our area and then
the Ice was gone and I live in north of Iceland
