-----------------I totally disagree with this Karen. This list IS a list very dedicated to semantics. Wording, specifically how the words tolt, rack, saddle rack, foxtrot, etc.. is used is talked about in- depth. And the focus is to make sure people are using correct terminology for the gait their horse is doing. For example - If I post a picture to the list of my horse doing a running walk, and I say she's doing a pacey tolt, I darn well guarantee you that my wording would be corrected by SOMEONE on this list. So yes, semantics is a big deal on this list. It would seem to me that it would be especially important in your area. You've mentioned on a few occassions that there are a lot of gaited horses in the south and that there are a lot of folks who know soft gaited horse's gaits. In some other areas of the U.S. (and world for that matter!), exact wording isn't so critical. There may not be as many soft gaited horses in those areas. It's still important to know which gait to call what, ovbiously, but people may not care as much in other areas. Dawn B.S. - northern Michigan
