welll ooookkkk. But I gotta tell you this :) Where I live is the turpentine capital of the universe. I mean, its how people made a living at the turn of the century and sent turpentine all over the world, that and yellow pine. I grew up in a home where my parents thought you could cure cancer with turpentine. and one of the things EVERYBODY knows around here about turpentine is that it "Takes away the soreness" and human beings put it on their sore thumbs etc. But this is also what I know... the turpentine we always had around the house for medicinal purposes came in a little blue bottle and did not seem thick and goopy and syrupy like horse turpentine so maybe its different. but turpentine is known for its pain and inflammation reducing properties. And I always hear that venice turpentine is just regular turpentine but with more antiseptic properties...
But turpentine has been used here for everything from curing mange to healing a deep cut etc etc. I use it mostly for dryness. Its very sandy here and it helps keep my horses feet moist. janice -- yipie tie yie yo
