I think this is true. As I've said before, you can lie to yourself, but you can't lie to your horse. I think this is part of Whisper's problem going out alone. I am not totally comfortable going out alone and she knows it. I've been riding her lately with my mother, but making her lead. Just having another peron there is helpful, even if that other person would be useless in an emergency.
