As a first time Icelandic owner, I'm learning a lot from this group.

I wanted to share my exciting news - last weekend I climbed aboard Bo,
my Icelandic gelding, for the very first time. He's several months
past his 4th birthday and I was thrilled that he was so accepting of me
sitting on his back.

I've read that some Iceys are started at 4 years of age - others
recommend 5. I'm having difficulty in deciding how much longer I
should wait to begin a light riding program. Iceys mature much
differently than the other breeds of horses I have owned.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!
