Among the group of people I ride with, there is not one traditional Western
saddle with skirts, horn and fenders. Our friends with the Icelandic
therapy horse do use Western tack on all three of their horses, but that's
the only Western tack I can think of at the barn where I board.

The majority of the horses are ridden in what is usually referred to as
English tack: dressage saddles, all purpose saddles, one saddle seat rider,
some hunter jumper types. The endurance horses are ridden in a saddle I
think if as a hybred - no horn, usually English type stirrup leathers, no
fenders, and girth with billets. Most are in snaffle bits, kimberwicks or
bitless.
