Gusti always had flat pancake feet and he would flare.

I've had some fairly good farriers here and no one seemed to be able
to do anything about it. I have a new little farrier now for two
years and I'm finally seeing more cupping to Gusti's front feet.

We also decided that Gusti and Elska (and now Ethel) require a shorter
cycle. They need to be trimmed every four weeks, instead of the usual
6 to 8. If Gusti gets the slightest lip on his feet, they begin to
flare and spread out. However, if he's trimmed reguarly, his feet
become a bit more concave....

So maybe it's just a case of needing to have the farrier visit sooner?
