Living over her in Hawaii I sometimes forget about rabies, as there
is none here, which is amazing to me....they have a very thorough
quarantine here for dogs and cats....it is nice not having to worry
about it...as my dogs hunt mongoose and rats and sometimes the
mongoose gets a few good licks on the Jacks before its over......
Living in California as a young kid the adults would tell us about
rabies and what would happen to us if we got bit by a wild
animal...12" long needles in your belly and such, it was like horror
stories....and of course I grew up with 'Old yellar' the Disney
movie...I always cried my head off in the ending. I never knew until
I was an adult that horses could get rabies, how tragic.
