>>One thing is that we're not using long-lines, like the lines here with Vinur (several pictures down): I agree with Laree about using a surcingle and while it looks perfectly safe for you in your situation Judy, I also find that I prefer to use very light weight rope because the length of the rope puts quite a bit of weight on the horse's head even when they are not long. I always have people hold the end of the rope that they are using and let them feel the weight when you are at the length it would be when ground driving - it is quite surprising.
