(off-list on purpose)

Hi Nancy:

I have a Mac Powerbook with I-tunes software on it.

What I do is: I go to the library and borrow books an DVD. I then load them
into the computer and thence to the Ipod.

I am not sure that this is what Apple intended. But I feel that I am freeing
up the DVDs for other library patrons much faster than I would if I were
actually listening to the DVDs themselves. And also I delete the books after
I have listened to them.

I am sure that Apple would prefer to sell books via their Itunes shop. But I
don't feel I need to do that. And at the rate that I listen to the books, I
am sure I could not afford it.

I could walk you through steps of loading books into the computer if you
have the same setup I have. (And it is a bit tricky). But if you don't, I
would not know how to help you. Our son will be here soon. He is the
computer expert in the family. If you tell me exactly what setup you have,
he may be able to help you.

And I find it disgusting that Apple is not helping you.

All the best,

Anneliese
