I see that I need to lease my child to you. He knows how to do all that.
What you do with the book: first load the entire book; the highlight the
entire book; then right-click and then click on get info; then you fill that
in (consistency is the watch word). Then if the disk number is not given,
you highlight all the track on a given disk, right-click and get info again,
then you specify which disk it is. When you are all done with that, you
highlight the entire book again. Click on file and then on "create new smart
playlist". Then in the window that comes up click on Album, then is, then
type in the title. Then click on + click on play count which is set at 0.
This is not intuitive at all. But you will then have each book separate and
in order when you sync with the Ipod.
