>>>> Oh man - I wish! What a beautiful wonderful little farm. The house
looke a lot like this house did when we moved into it in 1963. It still has
log stringers under the main part of the house instead of a foundation.

Then I understand why you picked that place. I walked into that little
house, and instantly saw how it would look remodeled, down to the colors in
the kitchen, and how I'd redo the windows on the south-facing side to
maximize that amazing view from the den. I saw how I'd preserve certain of
the interior wood beaded board walls, but also ways to add the insulation
that would be needed. Funny, I can't visualize stuff about how to ride, but
I can visualize the "after" of a potential remodeling job easily. I know
some people would want to bulldoze that house and start over, but not me.
That's what would drive me nuts - not being close enough to go ahead and
remodel it, and afraid that at least seven years of neglect (until Cary
retires) might do it in. If we were closer, or if we were closer to
retirement age, I think we would have gone for it, but it's just a little
too much of a stretch both ways.

Actually, we love it where we are, but suburbia is fast encroaching, and I
can't imagine what it will be like here in another ten years... This is
home, but I think we could make that part of KY home too.

Oh...if anyone is wondering...the kitchen should be yellow, with blue
accents, with the old linoleum pulled up and the pine floors finished a
light, natural color. Oak, cream or white cabinets - either would work.
I've already seen it!
