We do get extreme weather, after all we do have a continental climate that is totally unlike what you get in England. You have the Gulf Stream to even things out. We get the occasional rain storm but not too often. But there is a lot of difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures. For instance, no matter how hot it is during the day, it always cools down to about 70 degrees Fahrenheit in the evening, even lower of top of the hill. Then in the winter, we can have subfreezing temperatures during the night and going to to as much as the 70's during the day if the sun is out. Anyone interested in moving here should chart the ten-day forecast for Hustonville, KY for a while. Subtract a few degrees for the highs for the hill top in the summer and add a few for the lows in the winter; for the valley (where we are) the reverse. Anneliese
