When I look at the legs alone, I swear I see foxtrot, but the body language looks more saddle-racky to me. Foxtrot generally has more head nod, but I think that can vary. Whichever, it's close to mid-range I think - meaning, for instance, if it's a foxtrot, it's much closer to running walk than to a pure trot. (Lee Ziegler had a great article in Gaited Horse magazine once about the variations of foxtrot.) Right now, I'm reviewing an old video I made of Cary and Skjoni at the Liz Graves clinic. For some reason, on the footing in that arena, Skjoni does the elusive "fox rack", which Liz describes as having a slightly diagonal pick up but even footfall. He does a saddle rack on most terrains. It could be just an optical illusion though due to Tosca's four black legs. Maybe Tosca really is doing a saddle rack. You can tell by looking at Tosca's rider that it's very smooth, whatever it is.
