more power to her, if it's a project she wants. one of my former students is horse-shopping right now, but i would suggest she turn down projects -- she needs her own confidence built; i don't think she has the resources to spare for retraining too much. i'm still glad stjarni's such a saint -- we can work on training *riders* mostly, and training *him* is lagniappe :) (heck, even on stuff that's new to him -- lateral work, jumping -- i still feel like more of the learning is mine than his :) but anyway, it needs to be up to the particular horse person what they are looking for, what they can offer, and what they themselves need. you may think your friend is cool for what she does, but i think anyone who really makes a well-considered decision -- whatever that choice may be -- is pretty cool in my book. --vicka
