if given the choice between a sidewalk and a road, i take the sidewalk. having grown up with a pony in a largely-sidewalked area and having neither trailer nor ability to drive one as a child, i usually rode on sidewalks to the park, where i could ride on grass. as an adult, at a barn whose sand ring has been an ice-skating ring for weeks, i've ridden stjarni to nearby students' houses for lessons. there is no sidewalk there, so we're on the road, and i wish there were sidewalks, since then i'd be much less concerned about being hit by motor vehicles. so yes, "we" do, even if "you* don't. --vicka
