It is usually possible to ride in a chair seat (because the saddles are often 
quite long and flat) but it's also quite possible to ride in a good seat. No 
icelandic saddle I have tried "puts" the rider in a chair seat.

It seems like the Icelandic Saddles thart I haved ridden in puts my legs 
directly under me, some so severe that with my bad knee it is uncomfortable.  I 
ride with my legs pushed a little forward because of my knees....otherwise they 
are in pain directley under me, good thing I do not do dressage, oh my points 
would be taken away!
