I purposely registered Ima as brown, because brown doesn't have a hard and 
fast definition, at least not at the moment.  It's a descriptor and it fits 
her appearance, and most four-year-old humans would agree.  It doesn't sound 
exotic at all, but I feel better about calling her "brown" than "possible 
exotic color du jour" as often discussed on the color list.  Those 
"possibles" just slay me.  I might "possibly" be an alien from another 
planet too, but I think the odds of that are pretty slim!

Exactly.  It's interesting and all, but I'd sure never bet the farm on the 
accuracy of ANY horse's registration papers - color or even parentage.
