>>> karen has a young horse, Tifa, that to me is this dark mushroomy >>> colored mane and tail SD... but in other breeds, TWH for instance, SD >>> bay is often mistaken for chestnut or this liver chestnut with mushroomy >>> mane and tail SD is mistaken for a red.
Well....except that I need to get new pictures of Tifa. At two, her mane and tail are again suspicously jet black, with just a tiny bit of cream interspersed, and just a little cream on her lower legs. I still haven't registered her, and I need to. MAYBE she's s/d bay, or maybe she's "plain bay" - regardless, she's the nicest foal we've had born on the place to date, in conformation, gaits, sanity, friendliness, overall balance and just plain beauty. I don't give a rat's hiney what color she is, she's a fine Icelandic that we're darned proud of. She's not for sale either, no matter what her color... I haven't tested her for color. Somehow I feel like testing her for color cheapens the fact that she's so nice in so many other respects...and the other traits are SO much more important to me Karen Thomas, NC
