The error "Object reference is not set" is thrown when the user already have ifolder (be it 3.6 or 3.2) on windows and when he tries to uninstall the older version and install the new client. We would suggest to remove the local store of the previous installation (remove the "simias" folder under "C:\Documents and Settings\<User>Local Settings\Application Data), before installing the new ifolder executables.
I tried that. I also deleted the simias (or was it ifolder) folder in the all users directory even though it was empty. Didn't fix the problem. Next I am going to comb through the registry and delete all references to ifolder but I am not optimistic that will fix the problem because Joshua indicated that he had the problem with a virgin machine and I have had the same problem since the initial install.
