I suppose I am consious of what is publically available on the internet
these days. With a forum such as igaming, where people have said many,
many things over the years, I would prefer that the archives not be
available for trawling over by a robot and that those who have access
to them have, at least, shown an inclination to join the group.

I realise that as membership was open such inclination did not require
much and that non-humans could have joined, but now that membership
requires one small hoop (but a hoop that trips up automatic systems)
I am inclined to use that hoop to put small protections in place.

Considering how easy it is to join, what's the particular advantage
of opening the archives?
