If the board agrees, I'll set it up on beak inside a chroot jail. Beak is better hardened against attacks, and an IRC server can be totally isolated.

Hold your horses just one sec, though.
Freenode require shell control over the server. This is something I'm not sure we are capable of providing on either machines.
