Dear Mr. Sharad,
Let me first greet you on behalf of EDC and thanks for taking interest in us.
Before I start with my own points, please note:
[If you thought that infos about EDC’s activities are irrelevant then
you should have mailed us your concern to stop such mails on you
individual basis. But you started with your ridicules statements about
our words and ideology that we follow. You pasted our words from our
website to the Google group and laughed at us. Your motive was
different and negative, you didn’t want to talk about relevancy and
irrelevancy of our mails but you wanted to laugh at us. And now since
you are falling short of your rational arguments, you are taking this
discussion in a different direction.]
Now I can begin with my points…
As one of our alumni, we would always appreciate your thoughts on our
activities, be it positive or negative.
You made a very sarcastic comment on this Google group and I am
responding you back just because you made your comment public. Can I
assume that you have gone through each and every word of our website?
Perhaps not. If you had done so, you would have never come up with
this comment.
Let me remind you that we firmly started in Jan 2007. Founders of EDC
worked for less than a year and we are the 2nd team working for a
complete year. So in actual sense EDC is just 2 years old.
For your kind info EDC has helped 10-12 students/alumni with
Mentorship and in getting Fund. You please note here that these we
facilitated fund and mentoring process for these 12 people and not
mentored and funded by ourselves. We have Mentors and Angel Investors
on our Board through which we facilitate process.
{tell me if you are interested in knowing about these 12 people, I
would give their contact to you and then you would be able to confirm
our claim}
As of now, in 2 years, EDC doesn’t have even a little fund of its own
through which it can lend money at a lower rate to students or alumni
for their venture. EDC is completely non-for-profit organization and
functions through sponsorships. If you are expecting EDC to flow
direct fund from its account, you are completely unrealistic. And I
request you to kindly go through our Vision, Mission, About Us part
again and try to understand what we are trying to do.
We are stepping ahead according to the needs of IITD’s students and
that’s why we came up with the idea of Education, Mentorships and
Enterprise. Let me tell you that 99% of the students’ community needs
the first two things which are Education and Mentorships. Anyone can
get fund for his/her venture if stands tall at the first two level.
Investors don’t care about your IIT tag. They just need a team and a
sustainable business model. We are trying our best to make better
resources available for the students of IITD through our activities.
My email is not against you sir, but somehow I felt a need for this
response because somehow you have misunderstood our approach or
ideology. And as an alumnus of IITD we expect your positive
association.
We would appreciate your thoughts and efforts in making our activities better.
Note: I am sure that at least a fraction of people (at LUG IITD) must
be interested in our activities and certainly appreciate our
activities and our activity info. I don’t think that Technology and
Business are mutually exclusive.
Best Regards,
--
