I think we are over engineering the problem.
you can accomplish the same by writing another script  as mydc++


execute windowstolinux script
execute dc++
execute linuxtowindows script.

don't execute dc++ but execute mydc++ every time you want invoke it.

Another thing is that don't shutdown without exiting dc++ then you
should be okay.
