OOo/LibO supporting these formats makes it easier for windows user to work on ODT/ODF formats. Now, if we were to promote Open Standards and Formats, OOo/LibO's ability to handle these closed formats will be a plus, since the user can first shift to a FOSS tool that supports Open Standards and then they can learn about Open Standards (we are talking Open Formats here though), and make an informed choice.
