Last night before that I was trying various commands on terminal
including startx with sudo.
>From an answer posted on askubuntu that was the real cause. the
~/.Xauthority file was owned by root due to executing startx with sudo
privilege.
So I change the ownership using 'sudo chown user ~/.Xauthority' where
user is a username of standard uder account. And problem is solved!
