By too big I mean the characters and the screen area are bogger than the
monitor area. You have to drag the mouse left/right to go to the ends of
any window that you open. The chracters are also big so much so that you
can see the grains (pixels) in them. Same goes for the the background,
you can see the pixels. The screen is sort of magnified.

I will try your suggestion. So how do I set up the virtual screen and
reconfigure? Also, the login prompt goes straight into x windows, any
way to stop this?
