Yup ! I did manage to have my CD writer work in Linux. But
that was before my HDD decided to screw me and do wierd
things...! Mine is a SCSI drive and I find SCSI
Configuration a bit painful and a hog for time which I lack
sorely at present !!!

As far as drivers are concerned, if your drive is recognized
( kernel 2.2.5 happily recogizes mine !) during the setup
process, you can make the drive do almost anything ! Since
my drive worked out-of-the-box, i guess the drivers are
already there in Red Hat 6.0 distros.... If you are using
Debian ask Indra & Arup. They are going the Debian way it
seems !
