try sendmail from oreilly books. RFC 821(probably) will also help you
supplied in PC Quest few months ago).Besides, Red Hat Documentation is also
excellent.
another method :
telnet to port 25 of your local machine and type HELP. it will give you the
list of commands. You can also try some free web sites offering sendmail.
