Hi Rajarshi,
This is very much possible.
In fact we did this in the Sailab last year on an experimental basis and
then disabled it ( i'm an ex iitkgp guy ). The mailserver of the electrical
department was ee.iitkgp.ernet.in . Sailab had another Linux m/c called
edison.ee.iitkgp.ernet.in .
So all mails originating from edison were relayed to ee.iitkgp.ernet.in and
the sent of as [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Further an alias file was created in ee to forward all the relevent edison
mails it recvd.
So if 'xyx' had an account in edison he could send mails from edison itself.
All his mails would go out as [EMAIL PROTECTED] and all the mails that
he revcd would be sent to his edison acct.
Configuring the sendmail.cf for this sort of functionality can be done theu
linuxconf. I do not remember the exact settings but play around with it,
have a look at the docs and you should be able to do it.
