Abhishek,
You might be better off installing a slightly old version of Slackware
Linux, say something like what PCQ gave in 1997 (August, I think). That
distribution can be conveniently copied onto 3.5" floppies and installed
from there (you need a good number of them, though). Also, since your
PC is fairly old, and you do not plan to install things like sound,
GUIs etc. this distribution would be ideal for you.
8 MB RAM should be fine for running X with a window manager like Fvwm.
I have done it on a 486/50MHz with 8 MB + 270 MB and it is quite
usable. As for the two hard disks, no problem. Linux will sense them
alright.
