KEEP that Card. it's  a beaut! ( And Not avilable for Love or money
currently in cal). If you come around with a s3 Virge DX or a Cl GD564x/543x
, There might well be a stampede to grab those cards(Grin)!

For a Red Hat 6.1 system - Probably not so. A text only install with
development tools easily takes up 210Mb.  X can really bloat things from
there. BTW- X on a Machne with 8 Mb ram will most probably put your friend
off linux for Life. The recent builds have not exactly won prizes for size .
Do a CLI mode install and use what u can . Having said so- If you keep a
sharp watch on everything and get rid of  the kernel source and a few other
things like the docs- ( Read them from CD- Almost 80MB now) it is possible
to run what you wanted from a 150 Mb partition. I did so with 125 MB during
the slackware days of 1998!

ALL atapi devices are detected automagically . No need for u to fiddle
around!
